Earlier this year I got in on a monthly event called Black Friday. It's aimed at the local horror/Rocky crowd and features movie premiers, performers, bands, obese women in lingerie, vendors, and.. Rocky Horror, of course. Point is, it's finally found its new home at MADCAP Theater after Chandler Cinemas closed. Which is great, because that's right down the street from me. Now I just have to figure out how to get all my crap down there.
And, it's happening tomorrow! If you live in the valley, come visit me. Please? I believe it's free to get in and $10 per ticket if you want to see Rocky or Repo. I'll be the one huddled in the corner with a bunch of dead shit.
MADCAP is in downtown Tempe on Mill Avenue - it's the old Harkin's. Starts at six or eight or something and goes 'til midnight.

Freaky Features
I've been featured on the blog of another Etsy's Dark Side member. *squee*
Thinking of taxidermy, I immediately draw to mind flannel-jacketed Uncle Bruce watching the fishing channel in his wood-paneled den decorated with protruding buck heads and a coffee table otter.
But out in Tempe, Arizona, 21-year-old Morgan of SlightlyCurious puts her own sideshow-spin on the animal stuffing game. But wait! Before you get all up-in-arms about animal cruelty, here is the disclaimer she has on her MySpace page:
“While I’m no activist, I do not kill animals to create my work. They are roadside splatters, casualties of the seafood industry, or simply weren’t meant to survive. I merely take what isn’t stiff yet."
I’ll admit, as a vegetarian I was a little “OMG” when I first saw Morgan’s shop. But that initial shock quickly turned into intrigue; there is an innate creativity flowing there that I can’t deny and I was excited to find out about the inner-workings of taxidermy and to learn more about the artist herself.

Now that you've been lulled into complacency...
Apparently, I have an unfortunate habit of starting things I'm excited about, getting sidetracked by delicious looking food, mentally glancing back at my original project, and then...
Oh, hey there. This account has been around for a while now, and it's probably about time I start using it. Can you believe I'm doing this to procrastinate working on something else? Here, I'll show you.
Those are two of the wrist cuffs I'm working on that clearly haven't been finished yet. All they need are eyelets for the lacing, and they'll be done. Soon! I just need to acquire a grommet setter.

Here's an in-progress shot of the new style of cuff I'm working on. When it's finished, there will be a zippered pouch hidden on the back where one could store various monies, unmentionables, souls, and what have you. Instead of a skull, this one will have a few tiny femurs placed vertically. I'm not too keen on the color combination, though it's a little less contrasting in person.
And this... is actually completely finished, and should have been posted on Etsy already. Isn't it just.. sweet? She's a hair clip, by the way. I've just now named her Frenchy, keep an eye out for her in my Etsy store.
Now that everyone knows what I'm up to, there's a little bit of pressure to get things done.
Hopefully, I will manage to make semi regular updates. I'm just now figuring out this Blogger dealy, and had an embarrassing amount of issues with the drag-and-drop interface. Guess I'd better stick with old-fashioned HTML.
